If your blog has a black background (or other color), the white Scoutle Widget may not be your favorite color.

As of today, you can customize your Stage (the widget on your blog) by selecting your own background color! It is very simple and can be done on the Scoutle website so no plugins, uploading or whatever.

In the future we hope to add give you even more options. If you have any suggestion… we hope you let us know! In about one week from now we will launch a new widget that will give you and your visitors a lot more possibilities already.

How to change my Stage background color?

1. Login at Scoutle.com
2. Go to “My Scoutle” / “My Blogs”
3. Click on your Scout name and it will give you a page where you can edit your Stage and Scout.

Are you a lifestream fan? Follow everything your friends do? If so, you will probably use Profilactic already and if not you should start using their service right away. Now, you can also follow your Scout at Profilactic!

How? Login at Scoutle and go to My Account -> Communication with Scoutle. There, you will find your Remote Key that you can copy/paste at profilactic.com. Scoutle is listed as one of their over 190 social websites they support.

Although you don’t see it from the outside, we just replaced all the widgets with new ones!

Many of the algorithms and calculations were done while loading the widget (Scoutle Stage). With more and more users coming in every day, the server didn’t like this method of calculating anymore… Loading the widgets took longer and longer.. Something you, your visitors but of course also we didn’t like.

After over one month of programming the new widgets will allow us to welcome more and more users without having any negative effect on loading time. Also, these new way of calculations allowed us to finally answer one of the most requested suggestions… blocking Scouts from walking on your Stage.

From now on, you will only see Scouts that are either Matches, Top Connections, Recommendations, Friends… This means you will have full control over what Scout can and what Scout cannot be seen on your blog/Scoutle Stage.

We expect to launch the long awaited new widgets november 8th and those widgets are even better.

Bedrijven van NU : Scoutle

Today a big article about Scoutle has been published in the Dutch newspaper “Financieel Dagblad”, let’s say the Dutch Financial Times. A nice article I’m very proud of. They have also made a nice illustration of how Scoutle works that we may use to create one for ourselves to show (future) users.

The reporter also contacted CEO of Blogcatalog and is quoted to “find Scoutle a nice invention”.
